A.L. East Recap

I think that's a great idea; I'd be happy to alternate the A.L. East Recap with you. (though, for future reference, the category Category:A.L. East News is what's been used in the past, not Category:AL East News)
Xinoph 08:14, 8 May 2006 (EST)

I love the ambitiousness of doing a daily recap, but if I don't work on it with someone else it's probably going to be more like weekly - That's usually six or seven games, twoish series. While I have the time to do a daily recap right now, I probably won't later in the season, and that's when it's most important. So, either a split of the days, or a change to a weekly format - what do you think?
Oh, and it'd be great if you started roping other users into this - ideally, two people covering each division at a bare minimum. Browse through user pages and see who's a fan of what.
Xinoph 13:20, 9 May 2006 (EST)

That sounds good, if you work out the templates. I'd still suggest getting at least two people per division/team, if possible. Xinoph 18:16, 9 May 2006 (EST)

Red Sox Page

Hey Steak, i started this page a few days ago, thought you'd be interested in it and pass it a long to any friends that are Red Sox fans to help fill out: What are Red Sox Players Remembered For?. Thanks, --Roblefko 19:32, 9 May 2006 (EST)

Check it out. Usage is {{HOF | Baseball | YearInducted}} -- it even categorizes the players. You can view Dennis Eckersley as an example. --DNL 08:17, 16 May 2006 (EST)

Interested in being one?--DNL 10:57, 16 May 2006 (EST)

Game Recaps

Hey, we added a new create form and category listing for game recaps. See Category:Game Recaps and itll be self explanatory. --Roblefko 19:36, 16 May 2006 (EST)

Hey, Im gonna try setting up a schedule/results page for each MLB team over the next few days. Here is the one I did for the Mets: New York Mets Schedule/Results. If you're interested, and I'd really apprecaite your help, would you mind doing it for the AL East Teams (following the same format I did with the Mets):

Boston Red Sox Schedule/Results Baltimore Orioles Schedule/Results New York Yankees Schedule/Results Toronto Blue Jays Schedule/Results Tampa Bay Devil Rays Schedule/Results

Oh, and you can get the info you need from this page: [1] just click on schedule for the appropriate teams.

  • Yeah, i stopped with the featured players thing. At first I thought it was a good idea to get people involved, but then i realized there probably wont be too many people interested in writing now i think im going to start a "Featured Scouting Reports" soon (i used this as a test study to see if people will get involved, but i havent had a chance to promote it: St. Louis Cardinals Scouting Reports..more people will be interested in that, and more people can write about that (all you need to do is watch the games). What do you think? Should i start a featured scouting report section? Wanna help?
  • As for polls, we are in the process of developing something like that, so hold off on your idea just yet, it may be a couple of weeks away, but its goign to be really cool!

--Roblefko 08:59, 19 May 2006 (EST)

  • Actually, i change my mind, go ahead with your idea..if you want to get people to get together and vote on things, feel free!

--Roblefko 09:11, 19 May 2006 (EST)

  • Oh, and thanks for helping with the AL East Teams, I've already done around 6 teams in the National League. Hopefully by next week i can finish with everything, and then i will start trying to get people to take over a specific team and update that page and write game recaps --Roblefko 09:13, 19 May 2006 (EST)

Roblefko created a form for dictionary entries. I see you've been creating some. Check it out! Category:Dictionary

Voting Committee

Great idea! I change the page name though, so that the VC has its own section and page naming technique. --DNL 17:48, 19 May 2006 (EST)

Wasn't he in Japan for like a day?--DNL 07:45, 22 May 2006 (EST)

Try Help:Table :) --DNL 11:46, 22 May 2006 (EST)

All Time Teams

Great idea. Would you mind suggesting to livejournal friends (or whomever) that they create accounts and also make all-time teams? --DNL 07:47, 31 May 2006 (EST)

Player Templates

Right now, Each player has 4 templates loaded into it: {{Player Profile Box Top}}, {{Player Profile Box Middle1}}, {{Player Profile Box Middle2}}, {{Player Profile Box Bottom}}. If you change any of those templates, all player pages will be affected. But there's no benefit in adding ==Scouting Report== or ==Transactions== to them, because in the code itll still just appear as {{Player Profile Box Middle2}} or whatver so there will no way to edit that part of the page individually. --Roblefko 18:03, 3 June 2006 (EST)

AGMVC All-Star Team

I wanted to suggest that we might want to designate our own AGMVC All-Stars for the MLB. We could even do pitchers if we wanted. Just wanted to throw the idea out there. --Chachi 5:11, 11 June 2006 (EST)

Sports Quiz

You should still take part... Since it is a series of events, you get 1 for 0/15, as opposed to 0 for not taking part. I put this on the page but, you may look up answers if you wish, everyone else seems to... And besides, there haven't been that many entries, so you never know your luck. Alex Holowczak

Hey, how you doin? I just read your post on the top ten hitters of all time, and there is no way you can actually say that power is the biggest part of hitting. "Power is a big part of hitting. Power is probably the biggest part of hitting. Rose and Gwynn do not deserve to be on this list." If we go by that, then Sadaharu Oh is numero uno, Josh Gibson number two, Hank Aaron number three, and Babe number four. Many can make the case that the best hitter of all time wasn't even a big power hitter! I am suffering from writers block tonight, so i am forced to sit here and play devils advocate. Have a great weekend, Ufgators
