Biography
Murphy arrived to the NBA after an outstanding career at Notre Dame, where he easily scored over 20 points per game and was among the nation's leaders in rebounding. The 6'10 250-pounder has good NBA board strength inside and good shooting range outside. He has fallen short of his potential to be a All-Star PF, however. After years of struggling to find his rhythm in Golden State, he and teammate Mike Dunleavy were dealt to Larry Bird and the Indiana Pacers. He has spent time at center, where his decent pro-level passing skills have been used. But he again appears to be heading back to PF for the Pacers next year.
