Playing career

Tony Dungy (Anthony Kevin Dungy) was born on October 6, 1955 in Jackson, Michigan. After going to high school at Parkside (Jackson, MI), Dungy attended the University of Minnesota. Dungy made his professional debut in the NFL in 1977 with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played for the Pittsburgh Steelers and San Francisco 49ers over the course of his 3 year career.

Most people believe that 1978 was Tony Dungy's best year, as he picked off 6 passes.

Coaching career

Tony Dungy is the current head coach of the NFL's Indianapolis Colts. He was formerly a coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and, while there, showed interest in former WWE wrestler Brock Lesnar for a time (Lesnar later attempted to join the NFL in 2004; he signed to the Minnesota Vikings for a short time before being released). Dungy has led the Colts to multiple division titles, and in 2005 had his team on the brink of becoming the first NFL team to post an undefeated record since the Miami Dolphins of 1972 (the Colts finished 13-3 and lost in the divisional playoffs to the Pittsburgh Steelers. In 2006, Dungy led the Colts to their first Super Bowl victory.

In 2007, Dungy was appointed to the President's Council on Service and Civic Participation.
