Biography[]

Tom Chambers, born in Ogden Utah in 1959, starred in the NBA from his rookie year in 1981 to his last year as a starter in 1992. He continued to play as a solid reserve until 1995. Ther 6'10 Chambers is most noted as the 1987 NBA All-Star Game MVP for host Seattle, and then a key weapon for the contending Phoenix Suns with Kevin Johnson, Dan Majerle and Charles Barkley. None for his skying dunks, Chambers may be the most highly-rated white dunker in pro basketball history. But the forward-center played a solid all-around game at both ends of the court that made him a 2nd Team All-Pro at his peak. Chiefly a scorer, Chambers averaged over 20 points per game for nine straight NBA seasons. He is in the exclusive 20,000-point Club. Undoubtedly, he was one of the most popular and exciting players of the 1980s, which many still rate at the best decade overall in NBA history. His best seasons arguably were 1988-89 and 1989-90 seasons, during which averaged over 25 points per game. Chambers career high came for Phoenix against his former Seattle team 3/24/1990. He lit them up for 60 points. He would still be a big star in today's NBA.
