Shoeless Joe Jackson (Joseph Jefferson Jackson) was born on July 16, 1889 in Pickens County, South Carolina. He made his Major League debut on August 25, 1908 for the Philadelphia Athletics. In 1911, his rookie year, he hit .408 with 7 home runs and 83 RBI. Jackson played for the Philadelphia Athletics, Cleveland Naps, Cleveland Indians and Chicago White Sox over the course of his 13 year career.
