Born on December 23, 1977 in Anchorage, Alaska, Shawn Chacon (Shawn Anthony Chacon) played for the Colorado Rockies, New York Yankees and Pittsburgh Pirates over the course of his 6 year career. Chacon broke into the bigs on April 29, 2001 with the Colorado Rockies, and put up a 5.06 ERA in 160 innings pitched in 2001, his rookie year.
There is some disagreement on what was Shawn Chacon's most productive season. Some believe that it was 2004, when he notched 35 saves and struck out 52 batters. However, others believe that it was 2003, when he posted a 4.60 ERA, won 11 games and struck out 93 batters.
