Ray Schalk (Raymond William Schalk) was born on August 12, 1892 in Harvel, Illinois. He made his Major League debut on August 11, 1912 for the Chicago White Sox. In 1913, his rookie year, he hit .244 with 1 home run and 38 RBI. Schalk played for the Chicago White Sox and New York Giants over the course of his 18 year career.
There is some disagreement on what was Ray Schalk's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1920, when he knocked in 61 runs. However, others believe that it was 1916, when he stole 30 bases.
