Ralph Kiner (Ralph McPherran Kiner) was born on October 27, 1922 in Santa Rita, New Mexico. He made his Major League debut on April 16, 1946 for the Pittsburgh Pirates. In 1946, his rookie year, he hit .247 with 23 home runs and 81 RBI. Kiner played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Chicago Cubs and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 10 year career.
Most people believe that Ralph Kiner's best season was 1949, when he slugged 54 home runs, hit for a .310 average and knocked in 127 runs.
