The Pittsburgh Pirates signed a contract extension with shortstop Jack Wilson. Wilson receives $20.2 million and has an option for 2010. The Pirates owe Wilson $4.6 million this year and he would have been arbitration eligible at season's end. Wilson receives a $600,000 signing bonus and salaries of $5.25 million in 2007, $6.5 million in 2008, and $7.25 million in 2009. The option for 2010 is worth $8.4 million and includes a $600,000 buyout.
