Born on August 15, 1981 in Culiacan, Sinaloa (Mexico), Oliver Perez (Oliver (Martinez) Perez) played for the San Diego Padres, Pittsburgh Pirates and New York Mets over the course of his 5 year career. Perez broke into the bigs on June 16, 2002 with the San Diego Padres, and put up a 3.50 ERA in 90 innings pitched in 2002, his rookie year.
