- Hank Aaron goes 1-3 with an RBI in a game that his Milwaukee Brewers would lose, 5-2 to the Detroit Tigers. It would be Aaron's last game.
1984[]
- The Chicago Sting edge the Toronto Blizzard 3-2 at Varsity Stadium in Toronto, to win the North American Soccer League (NASL) Championship Series 2-0, as Pato Margetic scores the winning goal with 8 minutes left. It would be the second title in four years for the Sting, and the final game ever for the NASL, as the league was forced to fold due to financial difficulties.

- Hall-of-Fame thirdbaseman George Brett plays in his final Major League game. Brett's Royals beat Texas 4-1.
