The St. Louis Cardinals had a 7-0 lead in the fifth inning against the Florida Marlins yet the barely held out to beat the fish 7-6, giving Mark Mulder his 100th career victory. Mulder is just 28 years old. He is only in his 7th pro season and yet he has had at least 15 wins 5 times. He has a 3.90 career ERA. Dontrelle Willis was tagged for 7 runs in 4.2 IP and fell to 1-3 on the year.

Every Cardinal starter, including Mulder, had at least 1 hit on the day. Scott Rolen had 3 and scored twice. Jim Edmonds was on base 4 times with a 2-2 night and 2 BB's.
