Biography[]

Born on September 9, 1972 in Brooksville, Florida, Mike Hampton (Michael William Hampton) played for the Seattle Mariners, Houston Astros, New York Mets, Colorado Rockies and Atlanta Braves over the course of his 13 year career. Hampton broke into the bigs on April 17, 1993 with the Seattle Mariners, and put up a 3.35 ERA in 150.2 innings pitched in 1995, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Mike Hampton's best season was 1999, when he posted a 2.90 ERA, won 22 games and struck out 177 batters.
