With two clutch shots in two straight days, Gerry McNamara turned Syracuse from a bubble team, to an almost sure lock to the NCAA tournament.
McNamara hit a tying 3-pointer from NBA range with 5.5 seconds left in regulation and the Orange survived a frantic finish in overtime to upset top-ranked Connecticut, 86-84, in the Big East Conference tournament quarterfinals.
