Biography[]

Born on November 7, 1974 in Kennesaw, Georgia, Kris Benson (Kristen James Benson) played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, New York Mets and Baltimore Orioles over the course of his 7 year career. Benson broke into the bigs on April 9, 1999 with the Pittsburgh Pirates, and put up a 4.07 ERA in 196.2 innings pitched in 1999, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Kris Benson's best season was 2000, when he posted a 3.85 ERA, won 10 games and struck out 184 batters.

Benson's wife, Anna Benson, can be quite the headache for general managers such as Omar Minaya.
