Biography[]

Born on May 5, 1970 in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua (Mexico), Juan Acevedo (Juan Carlos Acevedo) played for the Colorado Rockies, New York Mets, St. Louis Cardinals, Milwaukee Brewers, Florida Marlins, Detroit Tigers, Toronto Blue Jays and New York Yankees over the course of his 8 year career. Acevedo broke into the bigs on April 30, 1995 with the Colorado Rockies, and put up a 6.44 ERA in 65.2 innings pitched in 1995, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Juan Acevedo's best season was 1998, when he posted a 2.56 ERA, notched 15 saves and struck out 56 batters.
