Born on July 27, 1933 in Hoboken, New Jersey, Johnny Kucks (John Charles Kucks) played for the New York Yankees and Kansas City Athletics over the course of his 6 year career. Kucks broke into the bigs on April 17, 1955 with the New York Yankees, and put up a 3.41 ERA in 126.2 innings pitched in 1955, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Johnny Kucks's best season was 1956, when he posted a 3.85 ERA, won 18 games and struck out 67 batters.
