Biography[]

Born on February 22, 1972 in Brooklyn, New York, John Halama (John Thadeuz Halama) played for the Houston Astros, Seattle Mariners, Oakland Athletics, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, Washington Nationals, Boston Red Sox and Baltimore Orioles over the course of his 9 year career. Halama broke into the bigs on April 2, 1998 with the Houston Astros, and put up a 4.22 ERA in 179 innings pitched in 1999, his rookie year.

Most people believe that John Halama's best season was 1999, when he posted a 4.22 ERA, won 11 games and struck out 105 batters.
