Biography[]

Born on December 10, 1975 in Flint, Michigan, Joe Mays (Joseph Emerson Mays) played for the Minnesota Twins, Kansas City Royals and Cincinnati Reds over the course of his 7 year career. Mays broke into the bigs on April 7, 1999 with the Minnesota Twins, and put up a 4.37 ERA in 171 innings pitched in 1999, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Joe Mays's best season was 2001, when he posted a 3.16 ERA, won 17 games and struck out 123 batters.
