Biography

Joe Cronin (Joseph Edward Cronin) was born on October 12, 1906 in San Francisco, California. He made his Major League debut on April 29, 1926 for the Pittsburgh Pirates. In 1928, his rookie year, he hit .242 with 0 home runs and 25 RBI. Cronin played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Washington Senators and Boston Red Sox over the course of his 20 year career.

Most people believe that Joe Cronin's best season was 1930, when he hit for a .346 average and knocked in 126 runs.
