Born on April 16, 1942 in Santa Maria, California, Jim Lonborg (James Reynold Lonborg) played for the Boston Red Sox, Milwaukee Brewers and Philadelphia Phillies over the course of his 15 year career. Lonborg broke into the bigs on April 23, 1965 with the Boston Red Sox, and put up a 4.47 ERA in 185.1 innings pitched in 1965, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Jim Lonborg's best season was 1967, when he posted a 3.16 ERA, won 22 games and struck out 246 batters.
