Jeff Newman (Jeffrey Lynn Newman) was born on September 11, 1948 in Fort Worth, Texas. He made his Major League debut on June 30, 1976 for the Oakland Athletics. In 1977, his rookie year, he hit .222 with 4 home runs and 15 RBI. Newman played for the Oakland Athletics and Boston Red Sox over the course of his 9 year career.
