Born on January 16, 1966 in Van Nuys, California, Jack McDowell (Jack Burns McDowell) played for the Chicago White Sox, New York Yankees, Cleveland Indians and Anaheim Angels over the course of his 12 year career. McDowell broke into the bigs on September 15, 1987 with the Chicago White Sox, and put up a 3.97 ERA in 158.2 innings pitched in 1988, his rookie year.
There is some disagreement on what was Jack McDowell's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1993, when he posted a 3.37 ERA, won 22 games and struck out 158 batters. However, others believe that it was 1992, when he posted a 3.18 ERA, won 20 games and struck out 178 batters.
