Biography[]

Hod Ford (Horace Hills Ford) was born on July 23, 1897 in New Haven, Connecticut. He made his Major League debut on September 8, 1919 for the Boston Braves. In 1920, his rookie year, he hit .241 with 1 home run and 30 RBI. Ford played for the Boston Braves, Philadelphia Phillies, Brooklyn Robins, Cincinnati Reds and St. Louis Cardinals over the course of his 15 year career.

There is some disagreement on what was Hod Ford's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1921, when he hit for a .279 average and knocked in 61 runs. However, others believe that it was 1929, when he hit for a .276 average and knocked in 50 runs.
