Hank Poteat (Henry Major Poteat) was born on August 30, 1977 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After going to high school at Harrisburg (PA) and Maine Central Institute, Poteat attended the University of Pittsburgh. Poteat made his professional debut in the NFL in 2000 with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
