Born on February 16, 1951 in Little Rock, Arkansas, Glenn Abbott (William Glenn Abbott) played for the Oakland Athletics, Seattle Mariners and Detroit Tigers over the course of his 11 year career. Abbott broke into the bigs on July 29, 1973 with the Oakland Athletics, and put up a 3.00 ERA in 96 innings pitched in 1974, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Glenn Abbott's best season was 1977, when he posted a 4.45 ERA, won 12 games and struck out 100 batters.
