England Manager, Sven-Goran Eriksson named a questionable squad for the World Cup today. Our forwards cause the most concern. He selected the injured Wayne Rooney (for about five weeks), the injured Michael Owen (for a couple of weeks), Peter Crouch (fair enough), and Theo Walcott (an Arsenal player that hasn't played for them much this year). Eriksson has overlooked Darren Bent, a high goalscorer for Charlton Athletic, and Jermaine Defoe, who has been good fo Spurs. This is a dodgy selection. Only the other day, I commented on another article that we had good depth in strikers, but now our forwards look weak on paper, considering only one has ever played for England that isn't injured! Either Defoe or Bent are likely to be called up to replace Rooney, however. I am now slightly worried...
