Biography[]
Endy Chavez (Endy de Jesus Chavez) was born on February 7, 1978 in Valencia, Carabobo (Venezuela). He made his Major League debut on May 29, 2001 for the Kansas City Royals. In 2003, his rookie year, he hit .251 with 5 home runs and 47 RBI. Chavez played for the Kansas City Royals, Montreal Expos, Washington Nationals, Philadelphia Phillies and New York Mets over the course of his 6 year career.

Most people believe that Endy Chavez's best season was 2004, when he stole 32 bases and hit for a .277 average.
In game seven of the 2006 NLCS, Chavez made a phenomenal catch to rob Scott Rolen of a go-ahead home run.

- The Game 7 catch that Chavez made in the 2006 NLCS was named the top post-season moment in the 5th annual This Year in Baseball Awards.
- Made the final out in Montreal Expos' history on October 3, 2004, in the Expos' 8-1 loss to the New York Mets at Shea Stadium.
- Like Endy, brother Ender Chavez (who reached AA-level baseball with the Harrisburg Senators in 2006) also played minor league baseball with an affiliate of the New York Mets, Montreal Expos, and Washington Nationals. He is currently playing for the St. Lucie Mets in the single "A" Florida State League.
