||
+ | Mark Fidrych is one of the most endearing Detroit Tigers to ever sport the old English D. 'The Bird' as he was known had so many idiosyncrasies that fans poured into Tiger Stadium to watch him pitch. Won Rookie of the Year honors in 1976 and pitched until 1980. |

||
+ | The Detroit Tigers saw a number of veterans leave or retire including Kenny Rogers Ivan Rodriguez Todd Jones and Edgar Renteria. They shored up the left side of the infield moving Brandon Inge to 3rd and obtaining Gerald Laird to fill the vacant catcher position Inge leaves. Adam Everett will fill in at SS. Brandon Lyon will help the Tigers shore up their bullpen. The pitching coach has changed to Rich Knapp from the Twins' organization who will hopefully rehab 2008 busts Dontrelle Willis Justin Verlander and Nate Robertson. |

Mark Fidrych is one of the most endearing Detroit Tigers to ever sport the old English D. 'The Bird' as he was known had so many idiosyncrasies that fans poured into Tiger Stadium to watch him pitch. Won Rookie of the Year honors in 1976 and pitched until 1980.
The 1984 Detroit Tigers were the last team from the Rock City to go and win the World Series!

The Detroit Tigers saw a number of veterans leave or retire including Kenny Rogers Ivan Rodriguez Todd Jones and Edgar Renteria.
