Biography[]

Deivi Cruz (Deivi (Garcia) Cruz) was born on November 6, 1972 in Bani, Peravia (Dominican Republic). He made his Major League debut on April 1, 1997 for the Detroit Tigers. In 1997, his rookie year, he hit .241 with 2 home runs and 40 RBI. Cruz played for the Detroit Tigers, San Diego Padres, Baltimore Orioles, San Francisco Giants and Washington Nationals over the course of his 9 year career.

Most people believe that Deivi Cruz's best season was 2000, when he hit for a .302 average and knocked in 82 runs.
