Biography[]

Born on June 1, 1941 in Wooster, Ohio, Dean Chance (Wilmer Dean Chance) played for the Los Angeles Angels, California Angels, Minnesota Twins, New York Mets, Cleveland Indians and Detroit Tigers over the course of his 11 year career. Chance broke into the bigs on September 11, 1961 with the Los Angeles Angels, and put up a 2.96 ERA in 206.2 innings pitched in 1962, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Dean Chance's best season was 1964, when he posted a 1.65 ERA, won 20 games and struck out 207 batters.
