Biography
DeAndre James Hackett starred at Cal State Northridge for his first two years of college as the number two receiver on the team, debuting with 47 catches for 728 yards and 7 touchdowns his freshman year and 53 catches for 778 yards and 10 touchdowns his sophomore year. When the team folded, Hackett transferred to the University of Colorado.
As a fifth round selection in 2004, Hackett barely received any playing time in his rookie year. However, the 2005 Super Bowl Seahawks experienced numerous injuries to their wide receiver corps, allowing Hackett to start three games, breaking out for 28 receptions for 400 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Despite beginning the season as an inactive, injuries again called upon Hackett to step in for 5 starts in 2006, upping his production to 45 catches for 610 yards and 4 touchdowns.
