Born on June 19, 1978 in Mao, Valverde (Dominican Republic), Claudio Vargas (Claudio (Almonte) Vargas) played for the Montreal Expos, Washington Nationals and Arizona Diamondbacks over the course of his 4 year career. Vargas broke into the bigs on April 26, 2003 with the Montreal Expos, and put up a 4.34 ERA in 114 innings pitched in 2003, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Claudio Vargas's best season was 2006, when he posted a 4.83 ERA, won 12 games and struck out 123 batters.
