Biography[]
Carl Crawford (Carl Demonte Crawford) was born on August 5, 1981 in Houston, Texas. He made his Major League debut on July 20, 2002 for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. In 2002, his rookie year, he hit .259 with 2 home runs and 30 RBI. Crawford played for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays for his entire 6 year career.
There is some disagreement on what was Carl Crawford's most productive season. Some believe that it was 2005, when he slugged 15 home runs, stole 46 bases, hit for a .301 average and knocked in 81 runs. However, others believe that it was 2004, when he stole 59 bases, hit for a .296 average and knocked in 55 runs.

Crawford has evolved into one of the best all-around players in the Major Leagues. He combines speed, power, defense, and running ability to maintain his position as the Devil Rays' best player, and one of the top outfielders in the American League.
In 2006, Crawford hit a career-best .305 with 18HR and 77RBI. In addition, he stole 58 bases and led the American League with 16 triples.
