Born on October 28, 1974 in Weatherford, Oklahoma, Braden Looper (Braden LaVern Looper) played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Florida Marlins and New York Mets over the course of his 9 year career. Looper broke into the bigs on March 31, 1998 with the St. Louis Cardinals, and put up a 3.80 ERA in 83 innings pitched in 1999, his rookie year.
There is some disagreement on what was Braden Looper's most productive season. Some believe that it was 2003, when he posted a 3.68 ERA, notched 28 saves and struck out 56 batters. However, others believe that it was 2004, when he posted a 2.70 ERA, notched 29 saves and struck out 60 batters.
