Biography[]

Bill Dickey (William Malcolm Dickey) was born on June 6, 1907 in Bastrop, Louisiana. He made his Major League debut on August 15, 1928 for the New York Yankees. In 1929, his rookie year, he hit .324 with 10 home runs and 65 RBI. Dickey played for the New York Yankees for his entire 17 year career.

Most people believe that Bill Dickey's best season was 1937, when he slugged 29 home runs, hit for a .332 average and knocked in 133 runs.
