The Arizona Diamondbacks honored Luis Gonzalez for becoming only the 21st player ever to hit 300 home runs and 500 doubles. The ceremony took place before the April 19th game in Phoenix versus the San Francisco Giants. According to ESPN's Pedro Gomez, the D'Backs invited Barry Bonds, the only other active player in the 300 HR/500 2B club, to appear on-field with Gonzalez. Even worse, while many Giants were on the top step of the visiting dugout applauding for Gonzalez during the ceremony, Bonds abstained.
