The Boston Red Sox came into tonight's game with an 8 game winning streak against the Baltimore Orioles and the streak didn't end as they won Friday night's game 6-3.

Curt Schilling gave Boston yet another quality start despite not having his best stuff and allowing several hard hits. But he went 6 innings allowing only 3 runs. He allowed 8 hits, no walks, and 5 K's. He improved to 5-1 on the year with a 3.02 ERA. Going against him was Red Sox killer Rodrigo Lopez who did a good job keeping the Red Sox bats quiet until a 4 run outburst in the 6th inning. He lasted only 5.2 IP, earning the loss to drop to 1-4 on the year.

Most of the damage was done on a 3 run double by David Ortiz who was 1-4 on the night. The offensive stars were once again Kevin Youkilis, who homered for the second straight night, and Mike Lowell who doubled three times, giving him 5 doubles in the last two games. Alex Gonzalez also had a big hit with a double, going 1-3 and raised his AVG all the way up to .190. Kevin Millar went 2-3 with a run in his return to Fenway Park. Millar was welcomed back by the Fenway faithful with a loud round of applause.

Jonathan Papelbon worked in the 4th straight Red Sox game and made quick work of the O's in the 9th, earning his 12th save of the year with a 1-2-3 inning. Former Sox reliever John Halama went the final two innings for the O's and kept the Sox off the scoreboard.
