LOS ANGELES -- The Atlanta Braves offense finally came to life in the middle innings of a 9-3 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday. Yunel Escobar  drove in three with a double in the fifth, and Brian McCann homered twice to help Atlanta even the series.

Jair Jurrjens (9-4) gave the Braves yet another quality start, surrendering just one run over six innings of work and striking out six. The rookie righty has now won five of his last six decisions dating back to May 16.

Dodgers starter Chad Billingsley (8-8) carried a no-hitter into the fifth inning, coming on the heels of Monday's one-hit masterpiece by Hiroki Kuroda. Atlanta's fortunes quickly turned for the better, as a pair of singles and a walk set the stage for Escobar's bases clearing double.

Leading 3-0 in the sixth, McCann belted his first of two solo homers on the night and Gregor Blanco singled home two more runs to make 6-0. McCann and Mark Teixeira capped the night for Atlanta in the ninth, when they hit back-to-back homers off Cory Wade.

Newly signed reliever Julian Tavarez came on in the ninth and yielded two runs in just a third of an inning in his Braves debut. Mike Gonzalez retired the final two outs on strikes to preserve the 9-3 win.
