Well, it was one of those good news, bad news things. The good news is Mount St. Mary's is still in the NCAA Tournament. The bad news? They get to play number one seed North Carolina Friday in Raleigh. The 19-14 Mountaineers rallied from a nine-point deficit at the intermission to beat Coppin State 69-60 in the opening round game in Dayton, Ohio Tuesday night. The Eagles went five minutes without scoring in the second half, allowing Mount St. Mary’s to break it open.

Coppin State ends the season with a mark of 16-21 and was the first team this season to qualify for the tournament with 20 losses. Mount St. Mary's Jeremy Goode led all scorers with 21 points despite the Mountaineers being outshot by Coppin, who shot 44 percent from the field to MSM's 35 percent.  Tywain McKee led Coppin State with 15 points.

The trip to the NCAA tournament was the first for Mount St. Mary's since 1999.
