The Detroit Tigers entered the final week end of the 2009 MLB season  in first place in the Central Division of the American League and with the magic number of two wins or a win and a Minnesota Twins loss and the Tigers enter the post season as the champions of the Central Division. Well like the old saying goes it's not over till its over.

Thanks to the visitors from the windy city, the White Sox, the Tigers have to wait another day. Jake Peavy pitched 8 innings and only gave up two hits, as the Chicago White Sox blanked the Tigers 8-0. Scott Podsednik lead off the game with a solo home run and the White Sox never looked back.

If the Twins and the Tigers should end in a tie, there will be a tie breaker game Tuesday night in Minnesota, to decide who goes on to the playoffs.

The Twins are now one game behind the Detroit Tigers. They defeated the Kansas City Royals 10-7. If The Twins win Saturday and Chicago defeats the Tigers, they will be tied going into the final games on Sunday.
