Linking to Years

I have a question that needs answering, or rather, something that the ArmchairGM community needs to decide upon. When you're linking to a year, should you (1) make it link to the sports' corresponding season, or (2) make it link to that year by itself, with an overview of that year in sports? I've come up with an example for both for you guys to look at.

1. For example, if I were filling in Terrell Owens' infobox, I would fill in this section as follows:

'''Debut:''' [[1996 NFL season|1996]]

...and from there it would link to a detailed account of the 1996 season, much like the page on Wikipedia.

2. Or, if I were filling in a section for any sport and had to put in a year, I would just write [[2005]] ...and it would bring me to a page much like 2005, with a recap of that year in sports.

We need to decide about this now, so that we're not confused about this later. Until we've reached a decision, I suggest that we just not link to years for now.Eggman 16:10, 18 March 2006 (EST)

UPDATE: I'd really, really like to get you guys' opinions on this. I see this as an important issue for ArmchairGM. --Eggman 11:24, 11 April 2006 (EST)

Let's do just the year. We can always make sub-sections of the year. For example, I created 2006 MLB Season, which should be linked to 2006 whenever it's created. Yeah?
Yeah, 2006 should be a recap of the year in sports, and if you make specific sub page's like DNL's 2006 MLB Season, we can just put a link to that page within 2006. --Roblefko 13:15, 11 April 2006 (EST)

So it's settled, then. We'll just make it the year in sports. Thanks for your input, guys. --Eggman 11:58, 15 April 2006 (EST)
