Andy Marte (Andy Manuel Marte) was born on October 21, 1983 in Villa Tapia, Salcedo (Dominican Republic). He made his Major League debut on June 7, 2005 for the Atlanta Braves. In 2006, his rookie year, he hit .226 with 5 home runs and 23 RBI. Marte played for the Atlanta Braves and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 2 year career.
Coming out of spring training in 2007, Andy Marte was the Indians starting third baseman, but due to both his struggles adjusting to the big leagues as well as an injury sustained early in the season, Marte currently finds himself playing third base for the Buffalo Bisons, the Indians' AAA club.
