Al Lopez (Alfonso Ramon Lopez) was born on August 20, 1908 in Tampa, Florida. He made his Major League debut on September 27, 1928 for the Brooklyn Robins. In 1930, his rookie year, he hit .309 with 6 home runs and 57 RBI. Lopez played for the Brooklyn Robins, Brooklyn Dodgers, Boston Braves, Pittsburgh Pirates and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 19 year career.
Most people believe that Al Lopez's best season was 1930, when he hit for a .309 average and knocked in 57 runs.
